The study was to establish the effects of advertising on sales volume of MTN Uganda Kampala district. It was guided by a number of objectives which were; to establish the effects of advertising on the sales of MTN Uganda, Kampala district; to determine other factors affecting sales volume of MTN Uganda, Kampala district, to determine ways of improving sales and to establish the relationship between advertising and sales volume. The data was collected from primary and secondary sources. The researcher used questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. Close ended questionnaires were also used to obtain data from a sample random sampling. The respondents comprised of employees from MTN Uganda, Kampala district, the data was analyzed using percentiles as a statistical method and information presented in form of table. The findings of the study shows that, there are a number of positive effects on sales such as; influencing customer attitudes, creative awareness, persuades potential and existing customer, support purchase decisions, and creates brand loyalty and helps in new product launch. Also sales volume was affected by other factors such as; quality of the product or service, size of the market, income of the consumer, situational factors, product perceptions and personalities and market segmentation among others. From the findings sales can be improved by, targeting specific market niches, promoting your own USP, collecting contact information, removing the obstacle of risk, diversity, setting up a sales incentive programme, tier of customers and reward of customers. The research concluded that advertising and sales volume are a close knit and rely entirely on one another hence a close relationship, and if advertising is done effectively and efficiently can help to improve sales volume. Based on research findings, the following recommendations were made; the company should maintain advertising as a marketing strategy and should try to be innovative and creative in it's advertisements, targeting specific market niches is also important for the company to increase sales, the company should also aim as quality product/service deliverance. The company should set up a sales incentive programme to help it's sales staff to up sell an should collect contact information about customers, tier its customers reward outstanding consumers and the company should plan well for its marketing activities as establishing a communications budget, deciding on which activities to be carried out, and other marketing strategies to use other than advertising.

The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between financial ability, production facilities, quality commitment and organizational performance with the case study being Hoima Sugar Ltd (HSL) with the aim of making recommendations and conclusions. The study was guided by objectives specifically to examine the relationship between supplier evaluation and organization performance, the criteria used for evaluating and the benefits of supplier evaluation. The study involved secondary sources of data where the researcher related his work with the different author publications and make conclusions based on them. The study was conducted where all the employees of the Procurement and Deposal Unit (PDU) and some selected staff from other departments were issued questionnaires to be filled and analyzed for findings together with interviews as the primary source of data. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The study used a case study design to get an estimation of respondents view in regard to the objectives of the study. The target population was the staff of Hoima Sugar Ltd though major focus was the Procurement and Deposal Unit. The study therefore used a population of 73 respondents. It employed random sampling method to avoid biasness in data presentation. Due to time constraint, the researcher only used questionnaire and interview methods to gather primary data which was analyzed ethically after collection by use of frequency tables and percentages. In the research, further study is also suggested for the betterment of the relationship between financial ability, production facilities, and quality commitment and organization performance.

This report gives a detailed account of the student’s internship training that was successfully carried out at Local Government Finance Commission. It contains the student’s work experience, responsibilities held and skills gained from the internship training that was carried out at Local Government Finance Commission under the department of Administration. This training was carried out for a period of 6 weeks and was aimed at enabling the student to experience real life work situations, gain an understanding of work ethics, employment demands, responsibilities and opportunities, and acquire new knowledge and skills. This report gives a brief background of LGFC, the organization culture and structure, the gender composition of the organization and its main activities. It also provides details of the activities done by the student, lessons and skills attained and the challenges faced by the student, conclusions made by the student about the organization and recommendations made to other students, the university and to the organization where the internship training was held.
