A research was carried out among goat farmers in Bugulumbya sub county, Kamuli district located in the Eastern part of Uganda to identify the factors likely to affect the reproductive performance of goats. One hundred and four goat farmers were engaged, all subjected to a standard questionnaire during data collection. The data obtained was analyzed using Microsoft Excel software. Results showed that 69% of the farmers provided supplements to their goats, 6.73% accessed extension services, 14.4% kept records and 23.1% dewormed. Results also indicated that housewives (53.85%) and children (35.58%) mostly took care of goats and semi intensive system (67.31%) was used by most goat farmers. Hence improper feeding, lack of records, poor disease prevention and control, and poor extension services contributed to the poor performance of goats. Farmers should be taught more about the benefits of record keeping, vaccination, deworming, spraying against ecto-parasites and proper feeding in order to improve on the performance of goats in the area.
