assessing the conservation status of economically important trees in okwang sub-county in otuke district

The study was carried out in Okwang sub county in in Otuke district the neighborhood of Alebtong district with the objective of generating the knowledge that’s important tree conservation in Okwang sub county and 60 respondents were selected for interviews. The data was collected using questionnaires and interview techniques reinforced by field observations and photography. Data collected was there after analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The most economically important were establish and their conservation status as well. The study revealed that most of the economically important tress grow on their in the wild and little conservation measures is taken. The study revealed that basing on the above findings, therefore recommends environmental education and public awareness campaigns, legislative controls provision and use of collaborative management of the tree resources so that meet the need of the future generation as well. The study therefore concludes that trees has important values and functions which are beneficial to both human and environment.
