The purpose of the study was to examine the management of architectural records at Kira Municipal Council registry. A case study research design was adopted. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected through open and closed ended questionnaires, semi- structured interviews from records management staff at the Council. Personal observations and documentary reviews were also conducted at the Council to supplement data collection. The study revealed that management of architectural records at Kira Municipal Council were inadequate as evidenced by lack of financial and material resources, inadequate storage space, lost copies of the plans, technological obsolescence, backup problems and understaffing. As a result of this, architectural records were not properly managed as per records management standards. The study concluded that ignorance on records management had diverse effects to the Council’s performance and drained financial resources that ultimately affected service delivery. It is therefore recommended that Kira Municipal Council adopts and promotes best practices on management of architectural records
