The research topic for this particular study was to examine the impact of climate change on the small scale business a case study of mafubira town council mafubira sub county jinja district. The research objectives were divided into two namely the major and the specific objective. The major objectives were to examine the impact of climate change on small scale business in mafubira town council jinja district. The specific objectives were to (1)To find out the different activities carried out in mafubira town council jinja district in relation to small scale business in jinja district (2) To establish the causes different climatic changes in mafubira sub county jinja district. (3) To ascertain different climatic changes and its problems posed on small scale business in mafubira sub county jinja district. The research methods used to collect data were interview methods, questionnaire survey, observationmethods, and the focus group discussion. The sources of data were both primary and secondary data. The sample size was 40 residents and sampling techniques used included the simple random and the purposive techniques The research findings revealed that according to the analysis of data in mafubira indicate that urban agriculture is a dominating activity for almost 80 % of the respondents in the sampled areas; other activities were livestock keeping, wage job, selling tomatoes, matooke, onions, selling chips businesses ,According to the research findings indicated that the household engaging in small scale business in mafubira have observed changes in rainfall seasons and pattern, temperature are higher in some areas than they were before and incidences of extreme events such as floods and drought have increased ,According to the research findings shows that Businesses face increasing insurance costs resulting from more severe weather, or they may even be unable to get insurance in areas especially vulnerable to extreme events, such as those prone to flooding, forest fires and high winds , The research reveals that Businesses that have markets or suppliers are affected by climate change in other regions ,About 90.8% of respondents claimed that the climate had changed. To the question of what these changes consist of, different answers were recorded and the researcher made a typology of the changes observed by the farmers. Rainfall disturbances were perceived by 89% of respondents.in mafubira town council jinja district, like other regions of the country, since small scale business is rained and the small,most farmers claimed that the rainy season started later (75.8%) and stopped earlier (70%). The majority of respondents (75.8%) noted a delay in the onset of the rainy season. Sixty percent of respondents In conclusion therefore it is heartwarming to realize that climate change is a global problem rather than a localized one. As such global attentions and solutions have been given and are still given to it over the last few decades. There is still need for further research to make conclusive findings on some other aspects of climate change such as global extent, intensities, effects and solutions. There is the need for further research to further preserve the environment from the effect of climate change, the research can help ensure better future predictions through detailed observations of present atmospheric, ocean, and land physic-chemical conditions. It is one thing to make policies and programs, but it is another thing to implement, monitor and evaluapolicies.
