This paper discusses results of a study which aimed to explore the knowledge and use of Web 2.0 technologies by LIS academics in Makerere University, Uganda. The purpose of the study was to appreciate the role that ICTs, specifically web 2.0 technologies can play in LIS education. It was based on the author‟s experience, current literature review and findings collected from an online survey conducted among some LIS educators at the East African School of Library and Information Science. The paper concludes with strategies on how web 2.0 technologies can be integrated in LIS education in order to ensure that LIS educators can benefit from ICTs and thus improve on knowledge transfer and service delivery.
