PROTEIN PURIFICATION: SALTING OUT

Salting out is a purification method that utilizes the reduced solubility of certain molecules in a solution of very high ionic strength it is usually used in the precipitation of large biomolecules, such as proteins or DNA. Particularly for this practical, the technique was applied in the precipitation of proteins. The principle behind the salting out technique is based on the fact that proteins have different solubility at different salt concentrations.
