AN ANALYSIS OF RISK FACTORS FOR DONOR FUNDED PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS IN THE HEALTH SECTOR IN ZIMBABWE

As the country continues to battle many challenges, donor funded programs and projects have evidently become a very important aspect of the health delivery system in Zimbabwe. These programs have grown tremendously and as highlighted earlier, enormous investments have been made (MOFED, 2016: 11). As both programs and investments grow, complexity creeps in. This calls for a greater awareness and understanding of risks. This research seeks to contribute to better understanding of risk in donor funded projects in the Zimbabwean health sector. Such a contribution helps improve the impact and success of projects and programs. It is this research’s submission that, the quest for improved program/project performance is not complete without efforts to better understand program risk.
