This dissertation presents an evaluation of how the film sector has impacted the stage play performances in Uganda ,Central Kampala and other issues that have had an impact on theatre apart from film. The dissertation further presents possible solutions to what theater companies can do to attract more audiences to there attention. A qualitative research methodology was used to collect and analyze data, The research tools that were used include interviews,library and participant observations. The dissertation presents the findings of the research showing how the film sector has impacted stage play performances in Uganda,central Kampala .The researcher discovered that one of the most pressing reasons is our audiences are getting digital so they are attracted to film more than traditional theatre plays ,the Unfavourable government policies .The report end with a summary of the findings ,a general conclusion and recommendation made by the researcher basing on the findings.
