REPORT ON FIELD ATTACHMENT TRAINING HELD FOR SIX WEEKS AT CASE HOSPITAL

The field attachment training is a requirement for the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree program at Makerere University. A student pursing a bachelor of science in biomedical engineering is required to undergo two such trainings for the completion of the program. This training is intended to expose the students to the field of study and promote learning outside of the classroom. This report details my experiences during the six week field attachment at Case Hospital. It contains information about Case Hospital ranging from background information to the services offered at the institution. It also entails the details about some of the equipment I interacted with during the course of my training and the activities performed. It also provides the challenges I experienced, how they were overcome and recommendations that I believe can improve the field attachment experience.
