A REPORT ON FIELD ATTACHMENT/ INTERNSTIP AT UGANDA RED CROSS SOCIETY KAMPALA NORTH BRANCH FROM 23RD MAY TO 15TH JULY 2022
The report presents the internship carried out at Uganda Red Cross society Kampala North- branch for 2 months. This internship report is divided into four chapters. The fieldwork activities included orientation, dissemination training, community clean up, resource mobilization ,blood donation recruitment, HIV awareness and practical dissemination session, visiting the missionaries of the poor and bless a child foundation, operational meetings first Aid training. These activities helped the intern to gain work experience in real life as well as learn lessons that work require team work, commitment, understanding work ethics, right qualification, and discipline. The challenges of the organization found out include; negative attitude of people to offer voluntary service to Uganda Red Cross society, community high expectations of relief, low turn up for blood donation, limited office space. Lastly the organization has limited land to expand its premises. Challenges of fieldwork activities included language barrier, financial constraints, lack of cooperation from some market vendors, time management, limited space at the office, transport cost. Delimitations of the above challenges includes; all Uganda Red Cross society staffs to be hospitable to interns, massive sensitization regarding blood donation, use of interpreters, proper utilization of available resources Lastly the internship report highlights, conclusion and recommendation to the organization where the internship was carried out.
