It was revealed that medical records are the most issued out information materials therefore medical information is the main information need of users. Therefore, the services provided by the Uganda Cancer Institute Registry like services, record keeping services as the study indicates. In addition, the study revealed that the registry uses a manual circulation. A manual records system can prove to be a challenge for both the registry staff and the users associated with challenges like; Long lines, time consumption, it is tiresome difficult to maintain statistics with the manual system. From the findings above, it is concluded that a lot of time is wasted during the charge and discharge of information materials at Uganda Cancer Institute Registry. The study therefore recommends Uganda Cancer Institute Registry to adopt the proposed registry management System to provide a centralized database of records and management of records activities. The registry does not have an electronic records system hence delays during registry operations; the study concludes that the information needs of the users of the Uganda Cancer Institute Registry are the need for an automated management system. Major recommendation was that the management of the UCI should adopt the proposed electronic records management system because of its many benefits. Other recommendations are that; more budget for the registry should be increased for purchase of equipment like computers, scanners and above all the users should be sensitized about the system.
