FABRICATING A WINDOW AT THE DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE, TECHNICAL AND VOCATION STUDIES

The student began the project work with drafting of the work plan with the guidance from the supervisor which started on the 30th, October, 2018 and completed on 09th, November, 2018. The training was done at the department of science, technical and vocation studies building which required to change all the wooden windows to metallic ones. The student was trained under the supervision of one supervisor and that is to say institution su-pervisor. During the training, the student acquired practical knowledge, skills and experience particularly in planning, designing, measuring, welding, fitting work and safety precautions at the workshop. The student acquired practical knowledge in real life situation of work, planning skills, measur-ing skills, welding skills, socialization skills, team work to mention but a few. This ultimately enhanced my professional development as a person. The student came to understand team work is the back bone of effective communication in a workshop. However the student also faced few challenges while at training. The problem of inability to access some of machines to work, inadequate materials to complete the work all this limited the student to fully acquire new knowledge The report further represents the conclusion and recommendations. The conclusion has the strength and weaknesses of the student in details and recommendations showing how the weak-nesses can be over came for the benefit of the institution and the student.
